DOROTHY E. MILLER was born in Indian River County on Orchid Island on the East Coast of Florida. She now lives in Miami. She attended school in New Jersey and Florida. Encouraged by her professors to develop all her talents, she studied creative writing at Lindsay Hopkins, Miami. Besides being an author and legal secretary/paralegal, she attended law school at the University of Miami. Dorothy likes writing books and dancing and is an accomplished singer.

Her self-published books include The Manuscript of a Black Caucasian, Orchid Island, After Storms on Orchid Island, Second Time Happy, The Color of Hearts, New Jerusalem, Epidemic of Love, and now, Labor for Love. She also wrote a book for children, The Long Summer.


Dorothy has been a member of the Romance Writers of America for 20 years;  the Florida Romance Writers for 20 years; the New Jersey Romance Writers  for 10 years; the Mystery Writers of America for 8 years. She has attended the Authors for Authors book fair in Melbourne, Florida for the past 4 years. She has also belonged to the Dade County Legal Secretary Association for 20 years; the Ski Club for 14 years.
